You Are Beautiful

"You are beautiful."

Have you ever felt insecure about the way you look? Have you ever felt the need to change a part of your body? These are some of the reasons why people want to get cosmetic surgery. But what is cosmetic surgery? Cosmetic Surgery is a kind of surgery that involves transforming, reordering or refining a part of your body to improve one's appearance. It was believed that Cosmetic Surgery began to develop after World War 1 due to war injuries. Cosmetic surgery was mostly performed to fix a broken nose or patch up burned skins. But as time goes by, people started to think of this as a way to change their appearances. People started wanting to get cosmetic surgery. We have created a poll on Twitter, asking people their thoughts about cosmetic surgery. In less than 24 hours, we got the results. The majority vote was the affirmation side where 93% said they agree on cosmetic surgery.

Their answers all have the same point: is that they agree but we should also be mindful of when should we stop or when it is enough. Here are some of the best answers:

As some of them have said, nowadays, a lot of people are insecure about their appearance due to society's high expectations and standards. Body shaming is now unfortunately, a part of the cultural lexicon. Even if you're the prettiest person on the planet, you'll inevitably have an insecurity or two. And every year, the amount of people getting cosmetic surgery, increases.

For the people who have decided to take on the path of surgery, they think that it is a way to achieve their picture perfect figure. But for those who are thinking or planning to undergo surgery, remember that there are risks and gaining also means losing. So before you jump into the decision, let us
share stories of people who under went surgery:

Vinia Bernandez

All Vinia Bernadez wanted was to be pretty. That is why 9 years ago, she decided to get Botox fillers in hopes of enhancing her facial features.

“When I was young, I wanted to be beautiful so I dreamed too. I also saw my friends get enhancements for the face... that’s why I became interested before,” she said.

What was supposed to boost Bernadez’ confidence turned into a nightmare when her cheeks and chin swelled 6 months after getting the procedure, leaving her previously fine face botched.

It was only later that she found out that she got scammed by a fake doctor. She admitted, too, that back then, she had no idea that her dream of becoming beautiful would have dire consequences

John, 68, from Los Angeles: ‘People are scared of going under the knife because of all the horror stories’

I have no regrets – I am happy with my surgery. My wife is quite a lot younger than me, which prompted my decision to get a facelift, with work done to my eyelids, eye bags and eyebrows. My skin was in good condition but some areas could be cleaned up. Your eyes get smaller as you get older, so I had that sorted out.

My wife has asked me what I want to do for my 70th birthday and it will be to get my surgery done again – it has been nearly 15 years since it was done.
Surgery numbers might be down because of the economy. I have read a lot of articles about people having bad experiences, too. You can die; some people get septicaemia and, if you don’t go to the right place, then you can have bad experiences. That’s what has scared them away. The press can be sensationalist about it. You cannot take it lightly – you’re going under general anaesthetic but, at the end of the day, it’s your own decision to make. For me, I am happy.

But not everyone gets cosmetic surgery because they want a part of their body gone or refined, an example of these people are: BTS' Kim Namjoon. He underwent surgery last February 5th 2018 due to a deviated septum.

Got7's Choi Youngjae also underwent surgery for the same reason.

Contrary to Vinia, John's story was rather satisfying and it is an experience those who want to undergo surgery want to read or hear. In Vinia's case, she went to the wrong doctor, a FAKE one. Which is one risk factor people should take in consideration. For John, he shared a story of satisfaction; he was satisfied of the outcome and lived a good life.

Even if we agree or do not with cosmetic surgery, there is no denying that there are risks. Ten examples are:

  • Hematoma
  • Blood Loss
  • Seroma
  • Infections
  • Nerve damages
  • Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
  • Organ Damage
and more...

We agree with plastic surgeries and have nothing against it. Wanting to change or improve a part of your body is your option. If you don't like your body, it's your choice if you want to change it or not. Cosmetic surgery is not a must but an option. People aren't obligated to change one's appearance just because of other's judgement. But please know, there's a limit in getting cosmetic surgeries just like how you can't drink too much alcohol or smoke. Despite having insecurities and the want to change, we want you to know and remember, though sometimes it may be difficult to see and believe: You are beautiful. You are perfect as you are.

"COSMETIC SURGERY?, it's a yes"

Admit it or not, in our world now—  we judge and being judged by our appearances . Physical attributes are what we get to see first, aren't we? It sounds hypocrite when people say that "Face does not matter, what matters is what the hearts says"— because people tend to judge through their naked eyes. We want to become more noticeable to the people around us.    Our desire to look better requires different procedures. It depends on which part you want to change or to enhance. Our culture as well, affects our standards of beauty.   In Asian countries, we start from transitioning our skin color from brown to white . By people’s wants and development, they started nose lifting. After anesthesia came to the world, plastic surgery became easier and introduced to the world.      Plastic surgery  is a surgical treatment that involves the restoration and reconstruction of the human body. Fieldtrip2k18

Hi, welcome to my travelogue! My name is Marcus and I would like to share to you my experience this year Fieldtrip. So before I went to the school me and Delchien went to Mcdo to meet up with Clyde and Denzel and also to buy our breakfast. And while we are eating Delchien was actually nervous that we might left behind by the bus. But actually when we arrive at the school the teachers are still fixing the seating arrangement in the bus. And after a couple of minutes we are now going inside the bus. Before we go to our first destination, we went to a stop over. I just went to the restroom and I immediately go back to the bus. And while we are in the bus they actually had a game and I don't really participate because I'm playing Mobile Legends HAHAHAH. After an hour we arrived at Camp N-nuvali and before we do some physical activities we do some exercised to avoid injuries. And our first activity was the Maze and it was easy to find the exit. Then after you get out of...
